Developmental Care Specialist Designation (DCSD) Task Force

What does the Developmental Care Specialist Designation (DCSD) Task Force do?

The task force will help facilitate the construction of a formal business plan around the DCSD product relaunch, including:

• Identify target audiences for the designation
• Update exam readiness self-assessment PDF
• Create designation handbook
• Provide insight about the designation as it relates to professional development, advancement, and patient outcomes to inform marketing plans to individuals and institutions
• Evaluate product data to help inform future strategic initiatives and success metrics

Requirements

We are looking for volunteers who represent various facets of neonatal care and consider themselves experts in development care, including:

• Nurses
• Advanced practitioners
• Therapists
• Other experts in developmental care practices

Additional Information

No prior volunteer experience is necessary. We encourage professionals with a passion for neonatal care and understanding/expertise in developmental care practices to join us in creating these essentials resources.

What is the time commitment?

Minimum time commitment is one year with the expectation of monthly meetings and any additional meetings as required for the project. Estimate majority of the work to take place between May 2025 - August 2025.
