What does the Education Strategic Coordinating Committee (ESCC) do?
The ESCC represents NANN values and members' needs in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational offerings and products provided by the organization.

What kind of volunteer is NANN looking for?

  • Currently working in or representing neonatal nursing care in a role such as clinical care, education, research, administration, eligible industry partners, or consulting
  • Background in education, conference planning, and evidence-based practice is preferred
  • Detail-orientated
  • Collaborative
  • Understanding of the educational needs and wants of the members

What are the responsibilities?

  • Ensure the compliance of NANN's CE programs with the standards established by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). 
  • Review new educational opportunities in any format independently or with the help of the appropriate committee and work group/advisory group and consider whether any new opportunities require review by the ESCC or another committee. 
  • Evaluate outcomes of current educational products, including the Annual Conference, and balance the individual roles (staff nurse, APRN, nurse managers, etc.) of the NANN membership.
  • Make recommendations based on evaluations of the Annual Conference and overall educational programs and products. 

What is the time commitment?
1-2 hours per month based on educational initiatives in progress

How long is the term?
Committee members serve one, two-year term with the option to renew for another two-year term. Members cannot serve on multiple committees at the same time.
