What does the ONE NANN Committee do?
The ONE NANN Committee supports NANN's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by fostering an inclusive environment for neonatal nurses of all backgrounds. The committee works to ensure that DEI principles are embedded across NANN's programming, policies, and practices and advocates for a diverse, welcoming, and equitable community within NANN and the profession. The ONE NANN Committee collaborates with NANN leadership to promote representation, inclusivity, and DEI awareness among members and the neonatal nursing field.

Members of the committee may not hold other national volunteer roles within NANN simultaneously unless the position is by virtue of the role. Participation may be allowed with approval from the NANN Board of Directors.
Term
Two years with an option to renew for an additional two-year term.
Qualifications
Members of the ONE NANN Committee must be NANN members in good standing, with a demonstrated commitment to DEI principles. Members should be actively engaged in neonatal nursing in a role such as clinical care, education, research, administration, industry, or consulting. At its discretion, the NANN Board of Directors may make exceptions to this requirement.
Responsibilities
A. Serve as a resource to staff on issues related to DEI and inclusive practice.
B. Assist in developing DEI-related messaging and initiatives within NANN's programming.
C. Identify gaps in DEI representation and recommend new or modified programs to enhance inclusivity across NANN's initiatives.
D. Participate in NANN conference responsibilities, such as facilitating DEI-focused sessions or activities.
E. Collaborate with staff and the Board to review and propose adjustments to policies or bylaws related to DEI.
F. Engage with membership communities on myNANN to support DEI discussions and elevate issues to staff and, when necessary, the designated Board liaison.
What is the time commitment?
The estimated total volunteer time will be between 5 to 10 hours per year. Additional time may be required depending on the ONE NANN Committee's current projects.
