What does the Annual Conference Committee (ACC) do?
The ACC represents NANN's values and members’ needs in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the education portion of NANN's annual conference. Committee responsibilities include:

  • Conducting an ongoing evaluation of the annual conference to determine effectiveness or need for adjustment 
  • Reviewing abstract submissions
  • Selecting and organizing a range of conference topics relevant to the needs of neonatal nursing
  • Assisting with conference activities as needed, such as monitoring sessions and assisting speakers

What kind of volunteer is NANN looking for? 

  • Currently working in or representing neonatal nursing care in a role such as clinical care, education, research, administration, eligible industry partners, or consulting
  • Experience in planning educational programs is preferred
  • Detail-orientated
  • Collaborative
  • Understanding of the educational needs and wants of the members

What is the time commitment?
While serving on the ACC, conference attendance each fall is required. As a committee, the ACC meets throughout the year with one all-day virtual planning meeting in the spring and 5-6 additional virtual committee meetings. Committee members also review conference abstracts in January and February, which can be a time commitment of about 8-10 hours. 

How long is the term?  
Committee members serve one, two-year term with the option to renew for another two-year term. Members cannot serve on multiple committees at the same time.
