What does the Health Policy and Advocacy Committee (HPAC) do?
The committee is charged with identifying and reviewing legislation or policy, creating content for the monthly From the Hill to the NICU e-newsletter, and raising member awareness on issues that matter most to our profession and patients. 

What will a volunteer do?
Participating in scheduled bi-monthly calls, writing content for From the Hill to the NICU, assisting in planning advocacy related activities at conference, and bringing forth legislation to the committee for consideration and review. 

What kind of volunteer is NANN looking for?

  • Currently working in or representing neonatal nursing care in a role such as clinical care, education, research, administration, industry, or consulting.
  • Someone with a basic understanding of the legislative process and familiarity with advocacy.
  • It is necessary for you to have the ability to respond quickly via email, as there are issues that may require a quick turnaround.
  • Ability to actively engage and attend bi-monthly meetings.

What is the time commitment?
Less than 1 hour per month.

How long is the term?
Committee members serve one, two-year term with the option to renew for another two-year term. Members cannot serve on multiple committees at the same time.
