Description:

In the fall of 2024, NANN joined forces with the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) to launch the Neonatal Morbidity and Mortality Task Force (NMMTF), addressing neonatal morbidity and mortality in the United States. The group formalized its recommendations, and NANN and AWHONN are collaborating to move related goals forward.

This opportunity is related to NMMTF Goal 2: Social Inequity/Racial Disparities. Create solutions and strategies to address the social, economic, and structural factors that contribute to inequities in neonatal morbidity and mortality, with the aim of promoting equitable, high-quality, evidence-based care for all neonates and their families.

Development of a Family Feedback System is one of the strategies identified to achieve this goal.

What does the Family Feedback System Development Workgroup do?

Create a toolkit and resources to encourage NICUs to develop a feedback system for families to report experiences of bias or disrespectful care that includes follow-up accountability measures.
