What does the Surgical Neonate SIG Facilitator do?

  • Stimulate and facilitate discussions for the Surgical Neonate SIG via the myNANN member community
  • Write one article for NANN E-News
  • Attend NANN’s Annual Conference to chair the Surgical Neonate SIG roundtable
  • Participate in teleconferences when needed
  • Meet briefly with other facilitators and the SIGs Board liaison at NANN’s Annual Conference
  • Submit reports to the Board for their mid-year and annual meetings

What kind of volunteer is NANN looking for?

  • NANN member in good standing
  • Participant in the pertinent SIG
  • Passionate about the topic of surgical neonatology

  • Enjoys networking and leading robust conversations
  • Strong writer
  • Ability to meet deadlines

A SIG facilitator, committee chair, or member shall not serve in any other volunteer role at the same time unless it is an appointment by virtue of the position held. If currently serving in a volunteer role, a member must complete the term of service prior to serving on the Board or Council. Service on a task force may be made upon approval by the designated leadership body – either the NANN Board of Directors or NANN-AP Council.

Term

Two years with an option to renew for an additional two-year term. 

Qualifications

Must be currently practicing in neonatal nursing in a role such as clinical care, education, research, administration, or consulting. At its discretion, NANN's Board of Directors may make exceptions to this requirement.

What is the time commitment?

One hour per month.
