Description:

What does the NANNP Nominations Committee do?

The NANNP Nominations Committee is charged with identifying and slating candidates for the NANNP Council. The committee actively vets, reviews, interviews, and ultimately slates for the NANNP membership to vote on.

What kind of volunteer is NANN looking for?

  • Must be a NANNP member
  • Practicing in neonatal nursing in roles such as clinical care, education, research, administration, or consulting
  • Understanding of the mission and vision of NANN and NANNP
  • It can be useful if committee members have NANN or NANNP committee or leadership experience
  • Willing to spread the word to your network about open positions
  • Ability to meet deadlines and attend required virtual meetings and candidate interviews
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Committed to diversifying the organization's leadership

What is the time commitment for this role?

The NANNP Call for Nominations generally opens around mid-March and closes mid-April. During this time we ask the committee to support the call by spreading the word. The primary bulk of the work for the committee takes place mid-April to mid-June and is dedicated to the review of applications, interviewing selected candidates, and finalizing the slate for membership vote.  We estimate anywhere from 10 – 20 hours of work total.

How long is the term?

Committee members will serve a one, two-year term.
