I have worked in a level III NICU for my entire nursing career, which spans 14 years. I have mostly worked as a staff nurse, but spent approximately 6 months as the Interim Clinical Educator for the NICU during a position vacancy.
The NICU is a world like no other. We admit patients at their most fragile state, and watch them grow, heal, and overcome challenges that seem impossible.
I couldn't imagine working in any other environment, the NICU and I were truly meant to e.
