Description:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Summit Task Force represents NANN/P values and members’ needs in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational programming of the APRN Summit that’s held during the annual educational conference. 

The task force consists of the chair, who is the assigned Annual Conference Committee (ACC) liaison from the NANNP Council, five to eight NANNP members, an Annual Conference Committee liaison, and the Lead Nurse Planner.  

Reports To: 

The APRN Task Force is a subgroup of the Annual Conference Committee that reports to the NANNP Council.  

Term: 

Recruited for each APRN Summit. 

Qualifications: 

  1. Currently practicing in an  APRN role in the clinical practice, administration/leadership, or academic setting. 

  1. Current member of NANN/P.  

  1. Previous experience in planning nursing educational programs. 

  1. Have attended a minimum of two NANN Annual Conferences.  

  1. Cannot concurrently serve on a related committee within a competing organization. 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Conduct ongoing evaluation of the annual APRN Summit format and programming and determine the effectiveness or need for adjustment. 

  1. Review Summit feedback and available gap analysis data in which to determine topics for future programs. 

  1. Review APRN Summit abstract submissions. 

  1. Determine the focus of Summit and identify speakers. 

  1. Select and organize a range of topics relevant to the needs of most advanced practice neonatal nurses. 

  1. Present a conference outline and topics for the SCC’s review. 

  1. Initiate contact with speakers and provide staff with speaker contact information. 

  1. Assist with summit activities as needed, such as moderating, monitoring sessions, and assisting speakers. 

  2. Actively participates in monthly task force meetings.
