I am a neonatal nurse with more than 35 years of experience. I have worked in Level I, II, III and IV neonatal units as well as in a pediatric ER and in home health managing neonatal patient's homecare. I am currently a Clinical Nurse Specialist working at Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) running their Perinatal Outreach program. In this role, I work with the healthcare providers who refer babies to NCH assuring that they are current on evidence-based care of the neonate through didactic education and simulation, assist with them with quality initiatives, consulting on neonatal issues and elevation of level of care. My interests are in caring for babies with neonatal abstinence/withdrawal syndrome, increasing breastfeeding rates in babies with NAS/NOWS, safe sleep, decreasing infant mortality, neonatal pain and parent transition after their baby is discharged home. I have been actively involved with NANN since 1989 and NANN-AP since 2012 at the local and national level serving as a chapter president, on the NANN Board of Directors and NANN President.
