What does the NANN Membership Committee do?
The Membership Committee helps cultivate and maintain a diverse, vibrant, and growing membership that includes a strong balance of early, mid, and later-career neonatal nurses, and supports NANN in the recruitment, retention, and satisfaction of members.

What kind of volunteer is NANN looking for?

• Currently practicing in neonatal nursing in a wide variety of roles such as clinical care, education, research, administration, or consulting
• Basic understanding of the vision and mission of NANN
• Dedicated to diversifying NANN's membership 
• Strive to make NANN an inclusive organization for members regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, experience level
• Detail-oriented and innovative 
• Willing to promote the organization within your network
• Ability to meet deadlines and attend required virtual meetings

What are the responsibilities?

• Serve as a resource to staff on issues related to membership marketing, recruitment, and retention
• Assist in the development of membership-related messaging 
• Participate in outreach to potential members and member groups
• Evaluate data to identify gaps and recommend new programs, changes to existing programs, or discontinuation of programs to achieve NANN’s goal of membership retention and growth
• In addition to Board of Directors, NANN-AP Council, and NANN Staff, assist with conference responsibilities, such as staffing the NANN booth, moderator positions, and other roles in which membership expertise is needed
• Consult with staff on membership categories and dues structure; propose necessary amendments to bylaws to reflect membership structure recommendations.
• Monitor membership communities on MyNANN and elevate issues to NANN Staff and, when necessary, the designated Board liaison

What is the time commitment?

The Membership Committee meets every other month virtually and onsite at the NANN Annual Conference. Occasionally, should deliverables require it, additional time may be needed.

How long is the term?
This is a two-year commitment with the option to serve one additional two-year term.
