My name is Kim Guglielmo. I graduated from the University of Maryland
School of Nursing in 1989. I entered Neonatal Nursing as a new graduate,
where I worked five years at Mary Birch Women’s Hospital in San Diego,
Ca. After San Diego, I moved to North Carolina and have worked at
University of North Carolina Newborn Critical Care Center for 21 years.
Over the years I have become involved in Family Centered Care and
Palliative Care. I am currently a Clinical Nurse III, serving as a leader in our
unit as a Charge Nurse, mentoring and precepting new staff. I received my
RNC-NIC certification in 2012.
When I am not at work, I am home spending time with my two teenage girls, ages 16 and 19. Need I say more? The house is constantly busy. My 19 year old is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina and my 16 year is a juniour in High School looking into colleges. It is a very exciting time for them both. I enjoy the outdoors hiking and sightseeing and spending time with the family dog. A hobby dear to my heart is quilting. I learned how to quilt over 13 years ago and love making special quilts for family and friends.
As I enter into my 4th year as a Board Member, I have been amazed of the things I have learned, and continue to learn. NANN is an incredible organization. I was currently reelected as the Staff Nurse Director-at-Large and look forward to two more years serving on the Board. I was also elected as Secretary/Treasurer by my local chapter Tri-ANN. I look forward in helping to expand our membership locally and get more nurses involved in the NANN community.
